Class Information and Certifications
Forklift and Rough Terrain Telescopic Forklift
(Certified Course)

This course will follow OSHA regulations in safety, operation and daily maintenance of forklift and rough terrain telescopic for inspection. Including complete understanding of components, weight, stability and speed characteristics of forklift.

Requirements:
Must complete and pass Forklift Operations written exam.
Take a timed hands-on skills test on both forklift and rough terrain telescopic forklift.

Once requirements are met, member will receive a certification card that covers both Forklift and Rough terrain Telescopic Forklift. This certification will need to be renewed every three years.
This course is not scheduled and is available upon 24hr prior request.

Length of Course: Approx. 8 hrs.

Standard First Aid and CPR with A.E.D.
(Certified Course)

This course will teach members the knowledge and skills necessary to prevent, recognize, and provide basic care for injuries, or sudden illnesses until advanced medical personnel arrive and take over.

Requirements:
Must pass a 4 part written exam. Member must also demonstrate different life saving techniques on training mannequin.

Member will receive 2 Red Cross certification cards. First Aid card good for three years, CPR and AED (Automated External Defibrillator) card good for two years.

Length of Course: Approx. 8 hrs.

Hazmat Class
(Certified Course)

This course offers a comprehensive hazardous materials training program which develops highly skilled, safety conscious operators trained in safe handling and disposal of hazardous materials. U.S. Department of Labor certified.

Requirements:
Must attend a full 40 hours of classroom instruction, pass all written exams and participate in all hands-on demonstrations. Member will also be required to operate dozer and backhoe in at least 1 of 4 Hazmat suits

Upon completion member will receive a certification card from the National Hazmat Program which is good for one year.

Length of Course: 40 hrs.

Hazmat Refresher
(Certified Course)

This course offers a comprehensive hazardous materials training program which develops highly skilled, safety conscious operators trained in safe handling and disposal of hazardous materials. U.S. Department of Labor certified.

Requirements:
Must have a current 40 hour Hazmat certification card. If expired, member must retake the 40 Hr. class.
Must complete and pass all written examination and participate in all demonstrations.

Upon successful completion member will receive updated sticker for card.

Length of Course: 8 hrs.

Crane Test Prep Class
(Non-Certified Course)

NCCCO PRE-TEST CLASS
This class was designed to help crane operators prepare for written CCO exams. The class is generally a 1 or 2 day class held 1 to 2 weeks prior to the actual test date. The class dates along with test dates will be posted on our web address as soon as they become scheduled. Scheduling is base on the # of members who call the office requesting the test.

We are a registered testing facility and all written exams are administered by CCO testing professionals.
We have a certified practical examiner on sight for all your hands-on testing.

Certification good for 5 years

Length of Course: We have at least one 8 hr. pre-test study class approx. one week prior to scheduled written exams.

NCCCO Crane Class
(Non-Certified Course)

NCCCO CRANE CLASS
This class designed to prepare operators for the N.C.C.C.O. written exam. Items taught will be operator’s duties, OSHA Subpart CC crane safety, crane components, hand signals, load charts and core sample questions.

Requirements:
Participate in all activities and demonstrations.

Length of Course: Approx. 40 hrs.

NCCCO Rigger 1 & 2
(Non-Certified Course)

NCCCO Rigger 1 & 2
Course is designed to help prepare operators for nccco rigger 1 & 2 written and practical exams. Class covers OSHA and ASME standards, rigging inspection, rigging application, math, and knot tying and practice tests. Course is both book and hands on. Course is typically 3 days.

Requirements:
Participate in all activities and demonstrations.

Length of Course: 24 hrs.

NCCCO Lift Director
(Non-Certified Course)

NCCCO Lift Director
Course is designed to help operators to prepare for NCCCO lift director written exam. Course covers OSHA and ASME standards, jobsite responsibilities, reading and application of lift plans for 1 and 2 crane lifts, load charts, and practice test. Prerequisite for testing is passing rigger 1 &2 written and practical exams. Course is typically 3 days.

Requirements:
Participate in all activities and demonstrations.

Length of Course: 24 hrs.

Pipe Fusion
(Certified Course)

A method of joining plastic pipe, sheet, or other similar forms of a thermoplastic resin wherein the two ends to be joined are heated to the molten state and then rapidly pressed together to form a homogeneous bond. The class is approximately 30% classroom and 70% hands-on learning proper operation of Butt Fusion machine.

Requirements:
Participate in all activities and demonstrations

Length of Course: 8 hrs.

Mine Safety Health Administration (MSHA Pt 48)
(Certified Course)

Miners working at surface mines and surface areas of underground mines are required to be certified under MSHA Part 48. Class must be taught with an MSHA Approved Plan by an MSHA Approved Instructor. The course will cover introduction to the work environment. Hazard recognition, emergency escapes & evacuation, health and safety aspects of assigned tasks, statutory rights of miners and their representatives.

Requirements:
Participate in all activities and demonstrations in class.

Length of Course: 24 hrs.

Mine Safety Health Administration (MSHA Part 48) Annual Refresher
(Certified Course)

Each Miner shall receive a minium of 8 hours of annual refresher training in the following courses: Mandatory Health and Safety Standards, Transportation Controls, Communication Systems, Barricading Roof/Ground Control, First Aid, Electrical Hazards, Prevention of Accidents, Self-Rescue and Respiratory Devices, Mine, Gases, Health Refresher training may include other Health and Safety subjects relevant to Mining operations at the Mine.

Requirements:
Participate in all activities and demonstrations in class.

Length of Course: 8 hrs.

OSHA 10 Hour 1926 Construction Industry
(Certified Course)

Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has put together this 10 hour safety training course that covers personal protective equipment; safety in confined spaces; material handling, storage, use, and disposal; electrical; control of hazardous energy; fall protection in construction.

Requirements:
Successfully complete all written exams and class hours.

Upon completion member will receive certification card from OSHA.

Length of Course: 10 hr two day class

OSHA 10 Hour 1910 General Industry
(Certified Course)

This class is intended to provide entry level general industry workers information about their rights, employer responsibilities and how to file a complaint as well as how to identify, abate, avoid and prevent job related hazard on a job site. Topics will be walking and working surfaces, including fall protection, exit routes, emergency action plans, forklift, fire prevention plans, and fire protection, electrical, PPE, hazard communication materials, overhead crane, rigging, maching guarding and more.

Requirements:
Successfully complete all written exams and class hours.

Upon completion member will receive certification card from OSHA.

Length of Course: 10 hours two days

OSHA 30 Hour 1926 Construction Industry
(Certified Course)

Occupational Safety and Health Administration
OSHA has put together this 30 hour safety training course that covers personal protective equipment; safety in confined spaces; material handling, storage, use, and disposal; electrical; control of hazardous energy; fall protection in construction.

Requirements:
Successfully complete all written exams and class hours.

Upon completion member will receive certification card from OSHA.

Length of Course: 30 hrs.

OSHA 30 Hour 1910 General Industry Outreach Training Program
(Certified Course)

The 30 hour General Industry Outreach is intended to provide a variety of training to workers with some safety responsibilities. Training should emphasize hazard identification avoidance, control and prevention managing safety and Health, Walking, and Working Surfaces, including Fall protection, Electrical, Hazard Communication, Permit-Required Confined Spaces, Lock out /Tag out, Powered Industrial Vehicles, etc.

Requirements:
Successfully complete all written exams and class hours.

Upon completion member will receive certification card from OSHA.

Length of Course: 30 hours, five days

Carry Deck Certification
(Certified Course)

This course will teach operators fundamentals of reading and figuring different carrydeck load charts and the safety factors associated with running wire rope and different kinds of rigging that will be used in the field or working environment.

Requirements:
Must pass written exam on hand signals, load charts and basic knowledge on wire rope & riggings.
Must pass a timed hands on skills test on Carry Deck.

Upon successful completion of both tests, member will receive a certification card good for three years.
This course is not scheduled and is available upon 24 hr prior request.

Length of Course: Approx. 8-16 hrs. depending on individual.

Asphalt Class
(Non-Certified Course)

This course will teach roadway safety, paving techniques, roller techniques and proper operations of the shuttle buggy transfer machine. Half the day will be classroom instruction and the other half will be spent on the machines learning and improving skills.

GPS & Laser
(Non-Certified Course)

It is important for an operator to be familiar with the latest technology in automatic grade control. Contractors are adopting these new GPS systems because they create more efficient operators. Some of the components this class covers are; Description & Functions of SV 170 and GCS 900 display, GPS terms, how it works, day-to-day operations and responsibilities of the operator, and setup.

Trench Box Safety
(Non-Certified Course)

On average, 50 workers are killed at excavation jobsites each year. Since one is too many we offer a 5 day trench box and shoring safety class. Members will gain classroom and hands-on practical experience of proper digging with trench box & shoring techniques.

Beginning Crane Class
(Non-Certified Course)

This class will be approximately 50% classroom instruction and 50% outside hands-on training. The classroom will focus on O.S.H.A. safety, daily maintenance, Assembly & Disassembly and proper load chart interpretation. The hands-on training will focus on all aspects of Assembly & Disassembly, daily maintenance and proper set-up.

Hands-on Training will be outside in the elements so have all required clothing with you every day.

Requirements:
Participate in all exercises and demonstrations.

Length of Course: Approx. 80 hrs.

Welding Class
(Non-Certified Course)

The student will learn welding safety, theory of cutting/welding and the required equipment. Areas of study include oxy/acetylene cutting, Plasma cutting, all position Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), all position Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW), Metal Inert Gas (MIG) both mild steel and Aluminum and metallurgical properties.

Class length: 40 hours

Hand Signal/Rigging Certified Class
(Certified Course)

This class is designed to prepare operators to meet the requirements of the newly enacted OSHA 1926, 1400 law for Hand Signal & Rigging. Section 1926.1428 (c) requires that each signal person must know and understand the type of signals used; be competent in the application of the type of signal used; have a basic understanding of equipment operation and limitations; know and understand the relevant requirements of OSHA 1926.1400; and demonstrate that he/she meets the requirements through an oral or written test, and through a practical test.

Rigging Section requires basic math skills as it will focus on Estimation of load weight, identifying center of gravity, and selection of rigging based on hitch configuration, load angle factors, load integrity, and load dynamics. Students will be required to pass a written examination.

Length of Class: 16 hours

Pile Driving Class
(Non-Certified Course)

This class is designed for the Operating Engineer that already possesses crane knowledge and skills required for operation of Lattice boom cranes.

Operators will be instructed on Assembly and Disassembly of Diesel hammer and Leads, Diesel hammer set-up and the actual pile driving itself.

Students will also have an opportunity to work with and learn techniques when using a Vibratory Pile Driver/Extractor
